‘Cage With No Key’ uses melody and metaphor to describe the indescribable

CAGE WITH NO KEY continues KRISTOPHER’s exploration into emotional honesty and vulnerability and is a featured single of his debut album ‘LIAR’, planned for release in early 2024.

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM KRISTOPHER:

Clinical depression affects an estimated 20 million Americans and about 30% of the adult population suffers from some form of anxiety disorder. I was diagnosed with both as a teenager although knowing what I know now, I was showing concerning symptoms long before that. I wrote “Cage With No Key” for understanding and reflection, not just for me but for anyone else suffering. It’s incredibly difficult to capture the exact emotions and illogical thought processes behind mental Illness such as these so I thought music would be a powerful way to convey it. 

My hope is that those also struggling might find solace in shared experiences while those who don’t suffer might be able to get a glimpse of the darkness. The stigma needs to end before we can solve the issue. 

If you’re struggling, I know asking for help is hard. I know feeling deserving of help is hard and I know that feeling pain is sometimes better than feeling nothing. Take it one day at a time, live for the moments in between, and do your very best to do what you can without beating yourself up.
